KEENELAND PARK NOTES s The public stable maintained by Arthur Hill consists of nine horses which found accommodations at Keencland. In addition to Jay Bird, which races in his colors, he is training four two-year-olds for various owners as well as four three-year-olds. Hill is prepping Katchican and Donna Joe, a two-year-old bay filly by Pompey Cousin Jo for Charles Nuchols; AVill Bank, a two-year-old bay filly by Zev Tyche, and the three-year-old Siba, a bay gelding by Stick To Jennie A., which has never been to the races for G. Wilt, and the three-year-old chestnut filly. Four Mile Maid, by Chatterton, for F. Miller. Two names have been requested for a brown filly by Whiskalong and Hillis waiting acceptance by The Jockey Club. The filly will be named either Alotabout or Big Boy Blue, and is the property of C. Regan, as is Transy and Bracey Jackson. The latter name has not been accepted as yet for the brown daughter of Whiskalong. The seven-year-old The Whig is in training at the Lexington trotting track under the direction of owner Walter S. Baker. The Baker two-year-olds are a brown gelding by Catalan Ninotte, which has been named Alan Chicle and a black colt by Cee Jay Jay Little Black, named Black Stick. Instead of going to Arlington Downs as originally planned, Jimmy McCoy decided to do his saddle work before his home town folks and has reported to trainer C. H. Ferguson at Keeneland. Arthur Hill has taken a three-year- contract on apprentice Henry Thibault, a promising exercise boy. Thibault has been galloping horses for nearly four years and comes from Brooklyn, N. Y. Thibault is twenty years old and has never had a mount. Fifteen head, including seven two-year-olds, are in training at Keeneland Park in charge of Austin Arthur, who is conditioning the string for Clyde Van Dusen. Van Dusen is giving most of his time to the training of the large Dixiana establishment at the Fisher Farm. The older horses in training here are Rose Torch, High Sonny, Dixie Flapper, Flaming Torch, Sweet Token, Peggy Torch, Torch Blow, and Torch Pig. All of the horses with the exception of the latter two are doing well and, according to Arthur, they will be returned to the farm. The veteran trainer A. L. Darnaby reported the two names he submitted to the registrar of the Jockey Club have been accepted. A bay fiy y. Transmute Drollery has been named Noticing, while a bay filly by Son OBattle Kissamee will race under the name of Shekinrun. The remainder of the stable is made up of the seasoned Black Noah and Novette, and two three-year-olds which have never been to the post. They arc King Zev, a bay colt by Zev Crestwood Girl, and Star Soldier, a black colt by Son OBattle Kissamee. As usual, C. H. Ferguson has gathered a useful stable together this season which includes five in the older division and a like number of two-year-olds. The older horses in the care of Ferguson at Keeneland are Vitamin B., Josh, Pierre Andre, Miss Wise, and Executrix. Names have been accepted on the two-year-olds which were raised on the Ferguson Farm at New Town, Ky. Two f ilies, the property of A. L. Ferguson, have been well named by their owner. Shining Heels is a black daughter of Flying Heels Glimmer, while Storm Warning is a gray filly by Kiev Thunder Flight. Nance, a bay filly by Victorian Nancy Alyea, will race for for R. H. Anderson. Dinna Do, a brown filly by Jock Approve, a half-sister to Epitome and Betsys Babe, a bay daughter of Vito Our Betsy, are on the Ferguson farm and will be vanned to Keeneland in a few days. E. J. Reed made an addition to his one-horse stable when he bought Epitome from Joe Hardwick. The only other horse Reed has in training here is Carovel. Morris Vchon who has several brood mares at the Blue Grass Heights Farm of Horace N. Davis, was an arrival from the East with Mrs. Vehon for a brief visit. He was joined here by his trainer, Jake Low-enstein the latter coming from Louisville, where he has the Vehon horses in training. Miss Mary Hirsch, whose No Sir is pointing for the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, was a brief visitor, motoring over from Louisville. Preston Burch, trainer for Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords, came from Columbia, S. C, for a days visit at Keeneland and some of the stock farms and then continued to Havre de Grace, where his stable has been shipped. Howard Oots has arrived from Hot Springs, taking up his residence at his Fayette Farm. Word was received by trainer J. M. Gaver that Mrs: Payne Whitney, owner of the Grcentrce Stable would be here on April 16 and remain in Kentucky until after the running of the Derby
