BONYNGE, never far from the pace, came fast in the middle of the track-to take a short lead in the final eighth and held LYSANDER when the latter came again. LYSANDER headed KINGSBURY after going a quarter and continued well to the end. COTTINGHAM came again after dropping back and was going well at the end. YALINA had early speed, but tired near the end. SKY WIND, taken under restraint, after breaking well, easily caught GOLDEN IVY when called upon and, going gamely to the end, held BLACK RHAPSODY safe. The latter saved ground in the early Stages, was on the inside of the winner in the stretch and suffered slight interference, but went strongly to the end. GOLDEN IVY showed good speed in pacemaking, but was no match for the first two. REBUTTAL made up some ground. TALL OAK and GLAD WINGS were off poorly. Overweight Glad Wings, 2 pounds. ILLEANNA, well rated, followed the pace of TWO TRICKS for over half the distance, then forged to the front of the latter to open up a good lead in the stretch and had enough left to hold GREEN FLAME. The latter was badly outrun early, but made up much ground to finish fast. TWO TRICKS set the pace under slight restraint, but although going fairly well to the end could not resist the first two. PORTDEN went evenly. SPEEDY RETURN broke out at the start, but quickly raced to a contending position, then tired in the stretch. TERRAIN was moving up when she broke down in the stretch.
