t ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES and E. Paul Waggoner presented Eugene Lutz, famed mystery man of the turf, with the brood mare Fair Joan, Friday morning. By Haste Sundina, Fair Joan is royally bred and Lutz is adding her to his group of mares in Ohio. Mr. Waggoner also announced that he had disposed of Runaway Target, five-year-old mare by Runantell Targeteer, to H. K. Barron, Texas turfman. Runaway Target started once as a two-year-old and then retired until her fourth year, when she ran second and won one race in two starts. Barron previously purchased Escomur and Exchange Club from the Three Ds Stock Farm. No price was disclosed. Cheatham Parke, who will be in the pagoda at Suffolk Downs for both meetings this year, was delighted when it was announced the 1937 Massachusetts Handicap would carry 0,000 added money. Miss D. De Steiger, the only woman having a trainers license in Texas, arrived from Houston with the plater Cheers. Lady Braxted, the dam of Sweep Like, Robert L. and others, died at George B. Mc-Cameys Bedford Stock Farm last night. Mr. McCamey hopes to save the foal. Acting for the Milky Way Farm, trainer Robert McGarvcy sold the three-year-old Not Asleep to Mrs. J. Lane Wilson. Fred McElroy received word that Toy Town had foaled a filly by Wild Law at his farm near Houston. J. R. Gregory reported Friday morning that Dead Calm, which finished second to Grey Count in the Louisiana Derby, had a cough and that he would not be under colors in the three-year-old race Saturday. J. Dunn, who purchased the plater Flat Rock and turned him over to D. J. Mc-Auliffe. left for his home at Oak Park, 111., Thursday night. He instructed McAuliffe to purchase several other horses for a Chicago campaign.
