TROPICAL PARK STATISTICS Coral Gables Association Distributes 78,680 in Money Prizes. Medway Stable Leads Money Winning Owners With ,450 Hirsch Jacobs Heads Winning Trainers. William V. Dwycr and his associates in the ownership of Tropical Park, at Miami, Fla., had their biggest season last winter as operators of the Coral Gables plant. Tropical Park prospered as never before, with bigger crowds and a greatly increased mutuel handle. The meeting, beginning on March 8 and winding up April 3, was the second half of the 1936-37 session at the track, Hia-leah Park splitting the two meetings. The management distributed 78,680 among winning owners, the Medway Stable carrying away the biggest slice of the prize money, when its campaigners won ,450. Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs was second on the list of winning owners, with ,140. The daily average distribution of prizes amounted to ,445. Bernard F., which won the Tropical Park Special, richest race of the meeting, was the leading money-winning horse, with ,980. H. W. Le Blanc, by riding twenty-five winners, won the jockey contest from Wayne Wright, who was only one winner behind his younger rival.
