DEL MONTE SIGNS MORRISSEY Veteran Official Signed to Start Races at New Track Near San Diego, California. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 9. Harry Mor-rissey, long ranked as one of Americas greatest starters, has been appointed starter at the Del Monte meeting, it was announced yesterday by Henry P. Russell, president of the Monterey County Racing Association. Racing over the mile course at Del Monte will start May 31, for a five-day run. Russell, who just returned from an inspection of the track, pronounced it in excellent condition. Many of Californias foremost stables are expected to race at Del Monte and the sport there promises to be a continuation of San Francisco racing.
