1 HAVRE DE GRACE NOTES k 0 Examination of jockey W. Duffy, who was thrown from the racer Virnock while going to the post in the second race on Tuesday, disclosed that the youngster broke his left arm between the shoulder and elbow. Duffy is leaving for his home in New York to recuperate. Judd Alt, who is making the riding engagements for jockey C. Parke, left for Keeneland Park to await the opening Saturday. Danny Kearney arrived with the horse3 Masked Queen, Dress Parade and one juvenile that will race for Mrs. Holland Potter. In addition to the older horses of the W. M. Jeffords stable, Preston Burch, trainer of the establishment, has a dozen juveniles quartered here, five of which are colts and geldings and the remainder fillies. The youngsters are by the following sires: Boatswain, Mars, Man o War, Wise Counsellor, Pharamond II. and St. Germans. J. W. Levin purchased the five-year-old gelding Monroe from C. E. Disburger and the plater will perform in the interest of his new owner on Thursday. H. Norwood continues as trainer. John Davis, an official of the Narragan-sett Racing Association, arrived from Paw-tucket to interest horsemen in the stakes that close April 15 and to obtain stall applications from horsemen. Ty Shea, who will serve as racing secretary at Agawam Park, forwarded word here that about sixty horses are on the grounds and taking exercise daily. Charles J. McLennan, racing secretary here, stated that the second and final condition book of the Harford Agricultural and Breeders Association would be released to horsemen on Friday. George Alexandra, trainer for the Medway Stable, has seventeen horses in training at Havre de Grace and expects to remain until late in the meeting before shipping to Toronto to await the opening of the Ontario Jockey Club meeting. George Arvin is training, in addition to three of his own horses, those that race for Felix Spatola and C. B. Asher. Townsend B. Martin, who has eight horses quartered here in charge of Walter Burrows, arrived for an inspection of his stable and will remain for the balance of the meeting. Those in the Martin stable are Court Scandal. White Cockade, Bigey, Liberal, Her Reigh, Stubbs. Grey Fluff and Gallopas. Since last fall the steward and camera stands have been torn down and new ones built atop the grandstand. The stewards now have an unobstructed view of the entire track, therefore the slightest move on the part of any rider will bring about an immediate suspension.
