DARK SEEKER took the lead at once, was unable to draw clear, was put to strong urging when tiring, but failed to withstand the winner. TAKE DOWN, away slowest of all and outrun for a half mile, closed with a rush. MANNIE, far back for a half mile, moved up fast on the inside and finished well. JOHN BANE raced wide and showed little. LO, well handled and away slowly, was rushed to the front on the inside, was unable to draw clear, responded to strong hand riding in the last stages and finished strongly. COLTMAN, a strong factor from the start, was forced a trifle wide entering the stretch, came fast when straightened and held on gamely. ROYAL LINK, hustled along from the start, gave way when in close quarters after reaching the stretch, but came again under strong pressure. EVA R., outrun early, improved her position fast in the drive, but hung near the end. BARNEY KEEN raced wide. JOHN DOE was shuffled back at the far turn and showed nothing thereafter. CHECK SIGNAL, away fastest of all but shuffled back soon afterward, worked its way forward steadily and closed with a rush. IANTHE tired. ROLLS NICE came againafter racing wide at the stretch turn. UNRIVALLED began very slowly and refused to improve its position under good urging. PRIRACK failed to break with his field and tired after improving his position.
