RIDERS TO RENEW THEIR FEUD Chojnacki and Gray Indicate Their Intention of Riding Again at Omaha 1936 Leaders. fc OMAHA, Neb., April 14. Ak-Sar-Bens 1937 race meeting, scheduled May 27 to July 5, will see two of last years riding stars back to renew their jockey feud. Frankie Chojnacki, the Cicero strong boy who finished at the top of the rider heap at Ak-Sar-Ben last year, and Allan Gray, who won third place laurels despite quitting the Omaha track with ten days remaining of the 1936 meeting, will return for the 1937 competition. Chojnacki, who tied the all-time Ak-Sar-Ben rider record last year in winning six out of seven races on a Saturday card, will come back to Ak-Sar-Ben without his "bug." He made off with top riding honors last year as an apprentice rider. Gray, contract rider for the Hunt, Beezley and Boeing string, is the Tanforan jockey leader. Lonnie Copenhaver, who will bring twenty-five thoroughbreds to Ak-Sar-Ben, will bring his apprentice rider M. Dauron to Omaha. Chairman W. H. Schellberg, chairman of the Ak-Sar-Ben racing committee, said today that there should be no dearth of capable rld-rs at the Omaha meeting. "We have been assured that the same quality of high class riders will again be on the grounds to accept engagements," he said. Schellberg indicated that it is likely Ak-Sar-Ben again will offer prizes for its leading riders, the same as last year, when watches and suits of clothes were awarded top riders for each half of the meeting. Workmen are now making alterations and improvements at the plant to put everything in readiness for opening day.
