, - I Comprehensive Tabular History of the Kentucky Derby The Kentucky Derby, to be renewed for the sixty-third time this year, is Americas greatest horse race. Every renewal adds to its glamour, tradition and lore. This year will be no exception. Something will happen to impress it indelibly upon the memories of eye-witnesses and radio listeners. No Kentucky Derby yet run has failed to furnish some interesting occurrence to make it unforgetable. As the years pile up and renewals become history, these outstanding incidents take on added significance and, in an effort to condense this information into the shortest possible space, Daily Racing Forms staff has gone to great lengths to produce the following table, indicating these highlights, such as horses which have won, then later sired sons also able to win, maiden winners and favorites where they finished first, second or third. The table is the most complete ever compiled on the Derby. Jockeys who rode one or more winners are easily noted. Owners who had one or more winners can be traced in the owners column, as can those sportsmen who bred one or more winners.. The number of nominations and starters are side by side and easily compared. Next year we promise additions to this table, such as male line, descent, etc. Nomina- , Year. Winner. Color. Sex. Wt.
