1 ARAHO STABLE HEADS OWNERS OHara Establishment Wins Most Money During Bowie Meeting. Calumet Dick Accounts for Southern Maryland Handicap, Richest Race on Program of Stakes. The success enjoyed by Bowie, first of the Eastern tracks to swing into action this year, has indicated to other seaboard track owners that 1937 is to be a big year for racing. Bowie opened April 1 and ran for nine days, ending on April 10. During that period the Southern Maryland Association gave away 4,360 for a daily average prize distribution of ,262.22. Sixty-three races were run, twenty-three of. which fell to favorites for a percentage of .37. The Southern Maryland Handicap was the richest of the three stakes offered and fell to the consistent Calumet Dick, which led the list of winning horses with ,910. Mucho Gusto, Rowe Memorial winner, was second with ,775. Money winning honors among the owners fell to the Araho Stable, owned by Mrs. Walter OHara, wife of the owner of Nar-ragansett Park. The Araho Stable carried off ,325. E. K. Brysons winnings amounted to ,755 and he was second on the list. Hubert Le Blanc rode ten winners, three more than to the credit of Johnny Gilbert. R.
