ORRA, always within striking distance of the leaders, found an opening in the stretch and came through fast to catch LYSANDER near the end. The latter showed fine early speed and raced SAN LEANDRO into defeat, but could not resist the winner, although holding on fairly well. RODNEY PAN was forced very wide on the stretch turn and, despite suffering a cut leg, finished gamely in the middle of the track. HEROAKEI, CONARD was going fairly well at the end. KENT could never get to the leaders and showed a weak effort. BAHAMAS began slowly and was in close quarters on the inside. SAN LEANDRO tired badly. Overweight San Leandro, 3 pounds. Won easily; second and third driving. - PELTER broke quickly, but could not remain in front, then came strongly after entering the stretch to pass MARGIEBELL and drew out easily in the last eighth. GOLDIES PRIDE was well up from the start and, going gamely to the end, held the others safe. UNDERFOOT came very fast through the stretch. MARGIEBELL opened up a good lead after going a short distance, but tired near the end. RAINBEARER dropped back after being in close quarters early. C1IATIN was shut off early. UNCLE FRED improved his position under hard urging in the stretch and was going well at the end. DEER FLY was well up from the start, but tired a trifle near the finish. LITHOROME opened up a good lead rounding the first turn, but tired in the stretch. BORSODI was going strongly at the end. BELOW ZERO was close up on the inside Irom the start, was lucky to avoid serious interference, came to the outside in the stretch to close with a rush and caught SCOTIAS FLAG in the last few strides. SCOTIAS FLAG, under a daring ride, got through several openings to reach a contending position on the Stretch turn and, catching BARCAROLLE an eighth out, took command, but could not resist the winner. BARCAROLLE was well up from the start and had no excuses, tiring in the stretch. WISE ALIBI had the most early speed and tired in the stretch. KEOKEE had early speed, but could not keep up and was in close quarters. Overweight Genteel Lady, 1 pound; Cavour, 1.
