MIGHT SEES GALSUN WORK Calumet Farm Stable Owner Highly Pleased With Trial of His Kentucky Derby Candidate. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 17. The schedules of several Kentucky Derby candidates" training in this vicinity called for extended workouts this morning, the most impressive work- being Galsuns over the abc-furlong course at Calumet Farm. The son .of Gallant Fox and Sunstroke equipped with blinkers and ridden by Irving Anderson, went alone and was timed three-quarters in 1:14, easing up the seven furlongs in 1:28. He went through his effort in handy fashion, and Warren Wright, his owner; who wa3 watching him perform for the first time this spring, was highly pleased.- After a preliminary canter around the track, Galsun began running in smooth fashion, going the opening furlong In :12. He reached the quarter in r24, and the three furlongs in :36. Galsun was tabbed the half by trainer Frank Kearns In :48 and the five furlongs In 1:01. The Calumet course was in good, condition after, the recent rains, although not quite at its best. LIKES SLOW GOING. At Idle Hour Farm, where the track was about three seconds slow to the mile, Brooklyn and Billionaire went eight furlongs in company, with the latter colt exhibiting a liking for the slowr going. The two colts worked as a team "throughout, being held .under, strong restraint until the. final quarter. No time was given out by H. J. Thompson, the E. R. Bradley trainer. Thompson stated his satisfaction as to. the efforts of his Derby hopes, saying, "Theyre both ready for the races." Their appearance under silks for some time next week is expected. At Keeneland, Delior was. sent, a mile by trainer John Goode. James W. Parrishs colt went into action at the seven-furlong post and worked around to the seven and a halt furlong post in 1:45. He did not go as fast as trainer Goode wished in the opening stages and was waved on for the final quarter. The son of Rolled Stocking and Gossip Avenue was timed the first half mile in :53 and three-quarters in 1:195s. The Keeneland course was pronounced in fast condition.
