MAEMUTE moved into command after going an eighth and showed high speed, bore out slightly entering the stretch, then drew away under urging. NINKI worked his way up on the inside, came between the leaders in the stretch and finished with good courage. HAPPILY showed a flash of early speed, but bore out slightly rounding the far turn and then finished well. NEWARK was bothered after the break, moved up gamely and closed ground. MY PAULINE was in close quarters in the early running. FLY ME was shuffled back after the break. JACKSAW raced greenly. MOONS MISSION showed a flash of early speed. SPARK-LING was in close quarters at the far turn. HARRIET R. broke slowly, was rushed up fast on the outside and then quit and was not persevered with in the final eighth. MY COLIN forced the early pace from the start, moved into command rounding the stretch turn and then bore out slightly, responded to urging in the stretch and outlasted HIGHPOOL in the final drive. The latter was rushed into the lead at the start, showed early speed, saved ground and had no excuses. NIGHT RAVEN followed the early pace under steady restraint, made a bid in the stretch and finished well. SPEED was outrun for the first part and made up ground on the inside at the finish. COUNT ATLAS was in close quarters in the early running. RIPARIAN moved up .courageously in the stretch, then hung. ZOSTERA was shuffled back after the break, but improved his position on the inside.
