SCHEDULE DISTANCE RACES Bonus for Trainers Who Prepare Their Horses and Win With Them Over Long Routes. Stimulation of distance racing will be one of the major items of the program at Arlington Park in July. About ,500 of the 76,600 to be distributed to horsemen at Arlington Park this year will be devoted to trainer awards for those who saddle winners in races of a mile and three-sixteenths and upward. In his prospectus, Charles J. McLennan, racing secretary, has set forth a scale of awards which will allot the following bonuses to winning trainers: 0 for races at a mile and three-sixteenths; 00 for races at a mile and a quarter; 50 for races at a mile and three furlongs; and 00 for races at a mile and a half and over.
