JOHN MORRISSEY AURORA STARTER Christopher J. FitzGerald, J. T. Ireland and T. C. Bradley to Be Stewards at Inaugural Meeting of Chicago , Season, Now Only Two Weeks Away AURORA, III., April 17. John Morrissey; who turned in such a fine job of starting at last years Aurora race meeting, will again be on the starters, platform getting the fields under way when the Fox Valley Jockey Club opens the Chicago turf season on May 1. This was made known yesterday with the announcement-Of. the official family for the nineteen-day stand by president and general manager Robertas. Eddy; Jr. Morrissey, one of the youngest starters in the business anda son of the veteran Harry Morrissey, served throughout last winter at the Fair Grounds meeting , and will report here at the end of the week ready for the important task of schooling the numerous two-year-olds which are already stabled at the Aurora track. Few changes were made, Mr. Eddy revealed, in drawing up the roster of officials for the spring meeting. Assisting judge Christopher J. FitzGerald, who will again represent the Illinois Racing Commission in the stewards stand, will be J. T. Ireland and T. C. Bradley, veteran officials well known here. Placing judges to supplement the new camera being installed will be Cliff Abbo, racing secretary Dick Leigh and Charles Campau, the latter also serving as clerk of the scales. PADDOCK JUDGES. Paddock judges will be Thomas Craven and Frank Otis, with George Swain serving with Craven and Otis as patrol judges. Several of the officials are already on hand assisting in preparations for the seasons opening, which is less than two weeks off. Starter Morrissey has been taking a short vacation, but will cut it short to hurry to take over his Aurora duties. There are now oyer 400 thoroughbreds at the track, most of them busy working every morning, and schooling of the youngsters will begin immediately upon his arrival. The housing atop the stewards stand, erected for the new Waite moving picture camera, was practically completed this week and the high speed photographic device is to be installed any day now. The Waite camera takes from 105 to 120 pictures per. second and enlarged reproductions of the finishes will be posted in three places for the public to see. " . .
