EQUIPOISES GLORIOUS RECORD I When Equipoise retired to the stud in 1935, he left a record on the turf that may never f be equalled for stamina, speed, and weight t carrying ability. In his racing career, he , started fifty-one times, was first twenty-nine times, second ten times and third four times, winning a total of 38,610. In many of his races, he carried top handicap weight and at Arlington Park in 1932, with .128 pounds up, he set a new worlds record of 1:34 for a mile. Equipoise is now at stud on the Whitney Farm at Lexington, Ky., where hundreds of visitors call to pay their respects.
