Following the good performance turned in by Gold Band to account for the Harewood Purse late Wednesday, trainer R. E. Potts decided to start the colt in the Stuyvesant Stakes to be run at Jamaica Saturday. Gold Band, a member of the Bomar Stable, was shipped early Thursday morning to fulfill his engagement.
