GALSUN MAKES DEBUT TODAY Warren Wrights Main Dependance for Kentucky Derby to Start in Fort Springs Purse. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 22. Galsun, Warren Wrights Kentucky Derby candidate, which has been given strong support in the future books, will make his first start of the season tomorrow afternoon at Keene-land in the featured Fort Springs Purse over the mile and a sixteenth distance. The chestnut son of Gallant Fox and Sunstroke will face four other three-year-olds, including C. V. Whitneys Black Look, which won in impressive fashion on opening day here at six furlongs. Another starter will be Gosum, a mate of Galsun in the Calumet Farm stable, which raced disappointingly on opening day. Completing the field are Tedall and The Queen. Galsun raced four times as a juvenile, being unplaced in his first start, which was at Arlington Park, the victory going to Bottle Cap. In his next effort he was third behind Forty Winks in the Saratoga Special, after which he scored in an overnight dash at six furlongs, the time for which was 1:12. TRIUMPHS OVER BROOKLYN. This was exceeded only by Billionaire among the two-year-olds at Saratoga last season, the latter winning in 1:12. Among the horses the Wright colt defeated in his graduation effort was Brooklyn when that colt was making his first start After going unplaced in the Hopeful Stakes, Galsun was put away to permit his further natural development, as he was a big, growthy colt. In both the Saratoga Special and the Hopeful, the track was heavy or sloppy, and Galsun did not display a particular fondness for the going. He was trained steadily this spring over the private track at Calumet Farm except for a single trial over the Keeneland course. Trainer Frank Kearns pronounced him in good condition for his debut. He will be ridden by Irving Anderson. The field for the Fort Springs Purse follows: PP. Horse. Wt. Jockey. 1 Tedall . .102 R. Dotter 2 tGalsun 107 1. Anderson 3 The Queen 102 G.
