T AURORA TURF NOTES s and Johnny Morrissey, who started with such marked success last winter at New Orleans and who will handle the barrier at the Fox Valley Jockey Club meeting beginning May 1, was an arrival and immediately began schooling of the many two-year-olds on the grounds. He is using the new baby Bahr gate. Eddie Griffin, custodian of the jockeys room, who recently became a benedict, checked in this week. The bride is the former Miss Dorothy Claire Wymer, daughter of Dr. J. J. Wymer, of New Orleans. Two carloads of horses arrived Wednesday afternoon from Hot Springs, containing the horses of Vic Gallo, New Orleans horseman; Harold Simmons, J. M. Murphy, L. Dilger, J. A. Best and E. C. Dobson. George Felkner will ship both Porcellus and Lunsford in the ten-horse shipment or his horses, which are expected to arrive Monday at Aurora from Arlington Downs. Porcellus will go in the Fox Valley Handicap Inaugural. W. W. Gauthier shipped five horses from New Orleans to arrive here Friday morning. There will be a six-car special train leaving Arlington Downs on Sunday for Aurora in which the following horsemen will ship their charges: 3. Hernandez, H. K. Barron, Walter Bradley, J. R. Gregory, J. Baum-bach, N. W. Burkhardt, Jack Carter, J. M. Buckland. C. Davidson, C. E. Dale, George Felkner, Sam Holman, Lee Hardy, George Keating, L. R. Kinfong, W. M. Murdock, Cliff Seybert, Sam Orr. R. O. Byrnes George Ncal. Tommy Root, J. P. Vann N. 3. Scanlon and others. There will bo several one-car shipments leaving there on next Monday, according to advices received ny racing secretary Leigh. Paul Kelly is shipping fourteen head In a car leaving Tanforan on Friday for Aurora. The Odessa Farm, which is trained by C. Hyde Smith, advised secretary Leigh that he would ship nine head on next Sunday to the Fox Valley course. Jake Miller will arrive Friday with three head from his home in southern Illinois which will be headed by the fleet two-year-old, Unassisted. General manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr., announced that the plant was ready to open right now and that a general inspection of the plant would be made on next Sunday. Visitors are invited to inspect the many new features which will be introduced this season. Jack Thomas was an arrival and began installation of the new Waite Moving Picture Camera Eye in the booth atop tho judges stand. A registered civil engineer was on hand to make the correct alignment of the camera with the finish line. Ray Bryson announced that he would ship fourteen head from Maryland next Monday; He hoped to have a starter for the Inaugu-i ral Handicap in the shipment With the arrival of the Texas, Maryland and Hot Springs horses this week, racing V secretary Leigh will have allotted every stall on the grounds, and incoming shipments probably will have to get stall room from other Chicago tracks. Among the arrivals of the mutuel plant delegation were Alfie Irwin, Farmer Brooks, "Scotty" Woodward, Jack Gilmore and Joe Richer. Rollie Leigh, assistant in the secretarys office, and Tom Craven were recent arrivals. Tony Grafagnini arrived with tho horses of the New Orleans patron, Mrs. A, Manale. His horses shipped well.
