j DERBY TO DRAW RECORD 1 j NUMBER OF SCRIBES j LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 1. Great as it has been as a news event for many, many years, the number of special correspondents " and sport writers to be assigned to report the Kentucky Derby continues to increase. According to Daniel E. OSullivan, resident manager of Churchill Downs, who is in full charge of Derby publicity and press arrangements, the number of newspaper and periodical "representatives scheduled to cover the Derby this year will break all records by a good margin. There is hardly a metropolitan newspaper in the country which will not have a special writer on the scene in addition to their own representatives, and every American newspaper will have the reports of the leading news services. Former press box facilities having become inadequate, accommodations for press men have been increased. On the coming Derby day an auxiliary press room will be open for the first time. This section, offering the same wire and desk facilities of the main double-decked stands, is situated on the clubhouse roof, between the new quarters of the placing judges at one end and the stewards at the other.
