PROWL was outrun in the early stages, worked his way up steadily, came to the outside in the stretch and finished fastest. OTEEBEE was rushed into command after the break, showed high early speed, but faltered suddenly in the final eighth. EVER GRAND showed an even effort all the way. SIX OCLOCK raced well and had no mishaps. ANNEKE was slow to begin. BALKONIAN lacked early speed. SILO CORN could not improve its position. GALLIOT could not keep up. NEW DEAL was close up under restraint in the early running, moved up fast on the outside, rounding the stretch tura and lost much ground when bearing out in the stretch, but came again to outlast WINNING CHANCE. The latter, a forward factor all the way, saved ground entering the stretch, assumed command at the eighth post and held on well. CHIEF CHEROKEE was outrun in the first part, but improved his position when urged and finished well. BARTERING KATE forced the early pace, raced GOLD BAND into defeat and held on well. HIGH TENSION raced forwardly on the outside all the way under mild restraint, improved his position on the outside rounding the stretch turn and, finishing fast, wore down CHRYSMUTE in the final drive. The latter, a forward factor all the way, saved ground throughout, drew away in the stretch, but could not stave off the winner. PLAYMORE was slow to begin, but worked his way up and closed fast on the outside. SYNOD showed a good effort throughout, but faltered in the final sixteenth. SUNCRAX reared at the start, but moved up fast and raced forwardly thereafter, then quit. THE MAULER had no excuses in the running. ZINNIA showed a flash of early speed. OUR CHUCKIE, quick to begin, showed early speed, responded when urged and came again to outstay STAR BANNER. The latter showed early speed from the start while saving ground and had no mishaps. WATCH OVER closed ground steadily in the stretch run. TOP STAFF raced greenly and lost ground on the turns, but finished resolutely. SHINING ONE could not negotiate the going. TRINA, slow to begin and outrun early, improved her position and finished with determination through the final eighth. HIGH VELOCITY was caught in close quarters after the break, moved up fast when clear and held on well. SWAHILI raced in nearest pursuit of the early pace and quit under urging in the stretch. EVERGOLD, on the outside of the leaders rounding the far turn, faltered at the finish. BISCAYNE BLUE had no mishaps in the running. GIANT KILLER could not menace the leaders at any stage.
