FERN STAR raced well up for the entire trip, saved much ground, but was no match for the winner. JOHNNIE DEAR began sluggishly, improved his position gradually and finished strongly. GARDEN POOL tired after showing speed for a half mile. WESTYS HERO was on the inside throughout and closed strongly. APPLE ANNIE quit. Scratched 56052Count Valiant, 108. FORCED LANDING lacked early speed, improved its position whe racing between horses and closed strongly. HI-SWING dropped back after three-eighths and was never a contender. HEEL IN, away fast and saving much ground throughout, responded well to hard urging and finished strongly. MAETOWN began slowly, was forced wide while improving her position and. closed with a rush. NORMAN SLOAT tired in the final eighth after being well up from the start. POLITE FORD began quickly, but tired after straightening out in the stretch. BANNER MAN had no mishaps. STAR BESS saved ground throughout, but tired in the last eighth. LITTLE DRIFT began swiftly, was taken up sharply on the far turn and, taken to the outside, closed strongly. CALCULATOR tired.
