SWEEPALOT was closest to AIR CHUTE in the early part and, continuing strongly through the stretch caught the latter tiring, then taking command near the finish, had enough left to hold ADVOCATOR safe ADVOCATOR came fast in the stretch and was pressing the winner at the finish. AIR CHUTE opened up a good lead on the back stretch and, withstanding a challenge from SWEEPALOT approaching the stretch turn hugged the rail on the final turn to widen the gap on his opponents, but tired under pressure near thc finish DON ROBERTO tired in the stretch. TORNILLO raced LITTLE ARGO into defeat and outfinished THE SINGER. The latter, slow to settle into stride, came fast in thc final stages and was getting to the winner near thc finish. GREFN FLAME, outrun for three-quarters, gained rapidly thereafter and closed with determination. SICKLEBILL came with belated speed in the final quarter. LITTLE ARGO tired after racing close up for a good part of the journey. RECOATNA failed to respond when subjected to pressure. GOOD POLITIAN gave way after going a half mile in a poor performance. BLIND BLARNEY had no excuse. FLASHING COLORS was through after going three-quarters.
