SONNY BUNTING, off well, raced up on the outside of the leaders rounding the turn, came fast through the stretch and, under slight urging, won going away. CLEAR moved up steadily between horses entering the stretch, then closed gamely in the run home, but was unable to head the winner in the closing strides. COL. ZAC took command soon after the break, set the pace to the last eighth, then tired and narrowly saved the show. SIR SATIN, well up all the way, closed strongly on. the inside in the final drive. BUD BROOM dropped back in the first quarter, came again on the rail through the stretch and finished very fast. JOBIOSO was always outpaced. MASKED CLOWN, outrun for the first half mile, closed fast on the rail entering the stretch, came to the outside in the last eighth and, under a slight drive, came on to win going away. COLD WAVE, slow to get going, was rushed up on the outside of the leaders on the turn, caught the pacemaker midway of the stretch, but failed to stall off the winner in the closing strides. BOURNEMOUTH set the pace by a short margin to the final eighth, then tired. DODIE came from far back in the final quarter and was going fastest at the end. BEGINNERS BAIT forced the pace to midway of the far turn, forged to- the front by a short head, dropped back slightly in the stretch when ONWELL was rushed up on the outside, then came again in the final seventy yards to win narrjowly. ONWELL, never far from the pace, moved up fast on the outside of the leaders in the stretch and showed in front for a sixteenth, but was unable to hold the winner in the closing drive. LA HONDA raced to the front at once, set the pace to the far turn, then tired. DUCHESNE raced evenly throughout. BLACK RAP was shuffled back rounding the stretch turn, came fast when clear on the outside through the stretch and finished strongly. JAY L. could never get up. MAHOMET, slow to get into stride, closed with a rush on the extreme outside going through the back stretch, forged to the front entering the stretch and, continuing gamely, won by a wide margin. NOTAR, close up from the start, saved ground on the inside all the way and was going gamely at the finish, but was no match for the winner, although best of the others. UNDATED closed fast between horses entering the stretch and was going gamely at the end. BLACK HAIR, racing on the rail rounding the far tiirn, made up some ground when the field swung a bit wide and tired in the run home. KATYS FAVORITE was in close quarters for the first half mile, dropped back slightly on the far turn and was never able to recover. HIGH TRUST was rushed into the lead at the start and set the pace to the stretch, then tired. PERSIAN KNIGHT and LAWYER BRIGADE both showed good speed for the first half mile, then quit. MACADAM had no excuses. LOUIS MORGAN closed some ground in the final quarter. WESTERN BOSS took command soon after the start, set the pace to the stretch, then, tired badly. HIGH ACE raced to the front at once, set the pace to the head of the stretch and tired in the final drive. LORENA J. closed fast in the stretch. POMPETE closed fast in Jhe stretch drive. STE. LOUISE forged to the front rounding the far turn, was forced to take up when in close quarters and never recovered.
