HASORM ELE, well rated back of the early leaders, came through fast on the inside when the leaders swung wide and, under a drive, lasted to win narrowly. ELSTREE, in close quarters between horses rounding the far turn, closed strongly in the run home when clear and was catching the winner at the end. MACLEOD BREEZE forced the pace to the far turn, then forged to the front, raced wide entering the stretch to carry ELSTREE, BRITISH TAN and MAHOMET with him, then came gamely in the final eighth, but was unable to make up the lost ground. BRITISH TAN was away very slowly, trailed the field for the. first half mile, then came fast between horses entering the stretch, was impeded when taken wide and could never get up. MAHOMET also closed fast on the outside and lost all chance when forced to go wide at the stretch head. SHASTA SPARK quit after showing good early speed. Scratched 56205Lady Edith, 105. SHADY WOOD, far back for the first half mile, moved up fast on the extreme outside rounding the far turn, continued on and, under a drive, came on to win by a safe margin. SAND BOOT, well up all the way, saved ground on the inside rail all the way, came with a rush entering the stretch and was much the best of the others. JUDGE LEWE, away fast, forged to the front in the first sixteenth, set the pace to the stretch by a short margin, then started to draw away, but tired in the final seventy yards to finish in a dead heat for third place with SWEET MAN. The latter raced close up all the way on the inside of the leaders and closed with good courage to finish on even terms for the show. ELECTRESS WELLS was never able to get to the leaders and was going gamely at the end. DEODORA HILLS forced the pace to the stretch, then tired. The others were never serious contenders. Corrected weight Electress Wells, 110; Pima Girl, 105.
