PLANS COLUMBUS CAMPAIGN Don Manifold to Ride for Shipp String at Coming Meeting at Beulah Park. COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 4 Don Manifold, eighteen-year-old apprentice from Kilgore, Neb., under contract to E. B. Shipp, will be seen in action at Beulah Parks spring meeting, May 4-30, inclusive. Manifold accepted his first mount at the recent Fair Grounds session and, from reports, is the most promising youngster to hook up with Shipp in some years. The boy will accompany the Shipp Stable here. Shipp will be remembered as the horseman who brought out Francis Polk, Pedro Martinez and J. R. Hill. The last-named was the top rider at the Beulah meeting last spring. Manifold is a brother of jockey Henry "Hank" Manifold, who at one time was associated with the I. J. Collins stable. The elder Manifold also is expected to ply his trade at Beulah.
