J SHASTA PLUCKY, away fast, held the advantage easily for a half mile, increased his margin when called upon in the stretch, but had to he ridden out to hold SIR PASSES safe. The latter, somewhat outrun for a half mile and raced wide, came with determination under strong pressure in the stretch and was slowly getting to the winner. BLONDKIN raced prominently from the start, but tired in the late stages, yet outstayed CHARLOTTE G. The latter could not get up. HADNOGAL raced under a light hold to the stretch, but failed to respond to vigorous riding and tired in th last eighth. JUBILEE C. met early inter-foronce. MIRA SERVANT quit. LITTLE C. C. ran out badly. Won driving; second and third the same. - WORTHING appeared to swerve when racing close up and on the outside early, slowly raced to the front in the stretch, again swerved in the final eighth and outstayed NIM. The latter, never far back and saving jnuch ground, moved up on the inside in the stretch, was in close quarters for a brief time in the last eighth, then tired after reaching the lead. EVA R., clear after being taken out after a quarter, closed resolutely under mild pressure and was strongest of the leaders at the end. LITTLE DUKE had speed, was under pressure after a half mile, lacked room momentarily in the last eighth and tired when clear. OTTERROP held on well. CALCULATOR was racing in hand when taken back on the stretch turn, could not get through cntcrin" the last three-sixteenths and tired thereafter. MOHAC had no mishaps, but was always far back. MATCHUP, away slowly and lacking usual early speed, was taken to the inside after a quarter, continued next to the rail when coming with a rush in the last three-sixteenths and finished boldly. STREET ARAB saved ground early, was forced wide entering the stretch and hung on stubbornly under a drive. MIDAIR, also slow to begin, remained far back for a half mile and also came through on the inside while closing a big gap in the stretch. MONTSIN lost much ground while showing a fine effort. PATROL SCOUT quit in the last eighth. IMPERIAL SIR also lost much ground. AMERICAN BYRD, away fast but forced back in the opening quarter, was racing strongly when blocked in the stretch and never fully recovered. BOLD FAY showed speed to the last eighth. VULJEST quit. GAY MAY, away slowly and raced wide, began to improve her position on the stretch turn, continued strongly after straightening out in the stretch and took command in the final eighth, but was ridden out. THE HARE raced prominently from the start, was in hand for about three-quarters and held on well after taking command, but could not withstand the winner. ROCK SALLY moved up on the inside approaching the far turn, came out slightly in the stretch and raced in determined fashion in the drive. MIAMBA GIRL closed fast. MO was under "pressure after reaching the final half mile and tired in the last eighth. WHAT A PAL raced wide. WILDA dropped back when in close quarters in the back stretch, again failed to keep up on the final turn and did not threaten thereafter, but pulled up lame. CROUT AU POT was outrun. CATOMAR, allowed to remain out of it early, began to move up on the outside after reaching the stretch turn, continued to race wide to the final sixteenth, where, while holding on well, she suddenly swerved to the inside, almost striking the heels of the winner as she did so. DARK SUN, rated under a steady hold for about five-eighths, rallied to light pressure entering the stretch, but gave way slowly in the last threersixteenths. FLORAGINA brought over rather sharply in the run to the turn, cut out a fast pace and held on in courageous fashion, but was not quite good enough. OPOCA, stoutly restrained for five-eighths, took command on the stretch turn but tired in the last three-sixteenths. JOBIOSO, a sharp factor from the beginning, saved ground, was put to pressure after three-quarters and held on fairly well thereafter. CARL B. moved into a contending position after three-eighths, went wide on the stretch turn and held on fairly well. COLD SPILL tired in the last quarter.
