BENA BANE, alertly handled and showing good speed throughout, drew into a commanding lead quickly, was roused vigorously in the last quarter and was ridden out to the end. STRADIVIOUS, close up from the start, continued gamely under urging, but was no match for the winner. TEXAS TECH, hard hustled for the entire trip, was forced wide on the first turn, losing some ground. PORT GIRL began slowly, worked her way up on the outside and closed in resolute manner. TELL was unable to keep up. ETHYLN was raring well up when she bore out on the first turn and was taken in hand. ALF G. was fractious at the starting gate, then wheeled when the start came. GOODBYE BLUES, going in his best form and always close up, moved into the lead with a rush after a half mile, drew clear quickly and won with something in reserve. VAN LAW, taken under light restraint in the early stages, responded readily when placed to strong urging and finished strongly. QUICK SANTA, outrun early, improved position gradually while racing between horses and was going strongly in the late stages. NA1IALLAC was much used in getting to the front, set the pace for a half mile, . then gave way. NYACK could not keep up.
