TOWNSMAN, never far from the pace, came fast through the stretch on the outside to catch HIGH VOTE near the end and won narrowly in a drive. HIGH VOTE, closest to ALVISO in the early running, caught the latter in the stretch to open up a short lead, although holding on well could not resist tho winner. ALVISO raced to the front at once and saved ground while making the pace, but tired near the end. GALLACLAY raced evenly. BOULEVARD was in close quarters in the stretch. The latter, taken up when ANCESTRAL came over at the start, dashed into contention after finding an opening in the back stretch, but lost ground in the stretch and could not get up in time. CANDLELIGHT was going strongly at the finish. ANCESTRAL raced well to the finish. TONEYS GIRL quit. SWIFT GAL was taken up suddenly after entering the back stretch. Corrected weight Lee Torch, 112.
