HONORING ADMIRAL GRAYSON Pimlico Staging First Running of Stake Named for Late Sportsman, Breeder and Owner. BALTIMORE, Md., Nov. 9 The memory of the late Cary T. Grayson, who at the time of his death was a member of The Jockey Club, a vice-president of the Maryland Jockey Club and a breeder and owner of thoroughbreds, will be honored at Pimlico tomorrow with the first running of the Grayson, a mile and one-half test for older horses. - Many friends of the late sportsman, including men and women high up in the nations political and social life in Washington, are expected to comprise a large part of the crowd to witness the race, whose winning owner will be presented with a trophy by Mrs. Grayson. A dozen capable distance runners have been named overnight for the ,500 added affair and with all starting the gross value will be ,060, netting ,075 to the winner. Top-weight in the field with 119 pounds is Mr. Canron, which carried the silks of W. W. Vaughan into second place in the Riggs last Saturday and under this arrangment he will be giving three pounds each to Count Arthur, High Velocity and Sir Jim James, six pounds to Two Bob and Regal Lily, nine pounds to Lucky Omen, Hypocrite, Flat Lance and Jolly Tar and twelve pounds to Roseretter and Simoon. The favorite may prove to be either Mr. Canron or Roseretter, the latter having won the Lady Baltimore Handicap in her last start.
