WILL DO rarcd to the front early and, showing good speed while saving ground, continued gamely after being headed by DROMBO nearing the stretch turn and, getting to the fiont again when the latter raced wide on the turn, had enough left to hold OPENING NIGHT, although all out to win. OPENING NIGHT, never far from the pace, came steadily on the inside of the winner in the stretch and would have won in a lew more strides. DROMBO raced wide cn the stretch turn while lcading and tired near the finish. MARY CARMEN made up much ground and was going strongly at the end. BRILLIANT BABY had early speed. AR1ELETTE was in close quarters while entering the stretch turn. PRINCESS ATHENE was badly outrun and pulled up sore. PUAKO raced in four light bandages. Overweight Sparkling Spic, 2 pounds. PRINCE HEATHER was outrun slightly in the first part and was forced to come to the outside of several horses in the stretch, but got to the front near the end and had enough left to hold CLAUDE K. The latter came very fast in the stretch to cut between horses in the last sixteenth and was pressing the winner at the finish. EASTER DOLL was all over the track, but was racing fairly well at the end. ALSTON made a strong move after entering the stretch, but was not good enough. BONYNGE, VALINA and REY CRYSTAL were used up forcing the early pace. BONSALL loomed up prominently on the outside ncaring the stretch turn, but tired in the final drive. PATROLITE came very fast next to the rail in the stretch and, fortunate in Finding clear passage, got to the front near the end. COSETTE raced close to the pace from the start and raced strongly to the finish. HIS GIRL showed good speed in pacemaking, but tired a trifle near the end. CLOUDY WEATHER was a forward factor from the start. PAPER SUN loomed up dangerously an eighth out, but hung near the end. DELINE BANK was never a serious contender. AMNERIS could not keep up. The latter closed with a belated burst of speed and was gaining. UNION GIRL was well up throughout and turned in a creditable effort. POMPARAGON, although forced to race wide, closed fast. BROAD ROYAL ran below his best form and received but little help from his rider. LOOK OUT BELOW and BELLES LAST were used up setting the pace and tired. RE.MLE also tired.
