BETTER PRICES MADE AT SALES Audley Farm Disposes of Thirteen for an Average of 59. Hadagal Filly Brings Top Price of ,500 Sixty-Eight Go Under Hammer on Second Night. BALTIMORE, Md., Nov. 9.r-The second sale of the Maryland Breeders Association staged in the Pikesville Armory last night proved most successful when sixty-eight yearlings brought a total of 2,625 for an average of 27 This was a vast improvement over the Monday night sale when seventy-two weanlings, yearlings, brood mares and stallions brought the low average of 53. Though smaller, the Tuesday night throng contained many more bidders with the result that sharp duels were frequent. The highest price of the night was the ,500 which B. F. Christmas successfully bid for the bay filly by Hadagal Wisecrack, by Vul-cain, and thus a half-sister to the crack filly, Smart Crack, winner of six of her seven starts this season. Opening at 00 the price quickly soared to the record figure thus far during the sales. She was consigned by Audley Farm which sold thirteen yearlings in all for 2,475, an average of 59. The second highest price of the night was the ,900 which Elmer Trueman successfully bid for a bay colt by Bud Lerner Bronty B., by Knight of The Garter, from the consignments of W. M. Elder. Trueman, who trains Toddle On, was a frequent bidder during the evening and was successful in purchasing a Trace Call filly for 50; a Sir James filly for ,000 and a Purchase filly for 00. Mrs. David A. Buckley of The Plains, Virginia, sold twelve head for a total of ,875, three in the consignment having been withdrawn due to injuries incurred while en route to the sale. The highest price for a Grand Time yearling was the ,400 paid by Yancey Christmas for a bay colt, out of Dun-caid, by Dunlin, one of the best looking yearlings to be offered during this vendue.
