PLAYMASTER raced to the front early, set a good pace and, withstanding a stretch challenge from NUVE ALTA, was a handy winner. PRINCE BOW raced wide all the way, losing much ground, but went well to the end. NUVE ALTA, close to the pace in the early part, showed an inclination to bear in during the stretch run, then tired near the end and was probably short. THE DARB began slowly and closed a good gap. SKY GREY tired in the stretch. INDEPENDANT WAY had early speed. MARY CARMEN raced wide rounding the first turn, dropped to last place and was far back of the leaders throughout. CLOSING TIME Was close enough in the early stages, but raced wide. BARBADOES raced well for three-quarters. DIDUTELLUS turned in a weak effort. YOUNG AGNES was outrun early, but moved up very fast after leaving the back stretch and, catching ENOCH BORLAND near the end, won going away. ENOCH BORLAND, in close quarters early, was forced to take back, then moved up to follow ORTHODOX closely to the stretch to take command when the latter fell, but could not resist the winner. SUSPENSION was in tight quarters when he lacked early speed, but came gamely when clear. SKY BREEZE was unable to keep up with the earlv leaders, but was going well at the finish. TONAS took up to avoid striking ORTHODOX when the latter fell. BUNCH BOY tired. TRANSBIRD was crowded going to the first turn. COUNSELLOR FAL was badly outrun early and made up ground when too late. SKY GLARE, well rated in the early running, moved up steadily after leaving the back stretch to challenge VALIANT FOX in the last eighth and was going strongly at the end to win narrowly. VALIANT FOX opened up a long lead in the early running and, having something left when challenged, raced well to the finish. BARNSLEY, badly ridden, was rushed through an opening on the inside during the back stretch and, racing up on the heels of VALIANT FOX rounding the far turn, was forced to take up, then came to the outside in the stretch, losing much ground, but finished close up and was probably best.
