OVERHAUL TROPICAL PARK Preparations Under Way for Inaugural of Meeting December 19. Making Flans to Outstrip Successful Season of Last Winter Officials Holding Conferences. MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 23. rRe-decoration of the clubhouse and a general overhauling of the physical properties of the picturesque course on the edge of the Everglades, is under way in preparation for the opening of the twenty days meeting from December 19, Tropical Park officials announced today. During the past week several meetings of the Gables Racing Association leaders have been held here and plans for the coming season have been virtually completed, said President Norman W. Graves. Frank dePau Schuyler, general manager of the track, has moved his headquarters from downtown Miami to the new block of executive offices at the track. These offices were erected late last season in the upper clubhouse. The influx of the vanguard of 900 horses to be stabled at Tropical Park, already is well under way and the unloading platform is the scene of activity daily. Horses also are pouring into Hialeahs spacious stables and these will be vanned over the short jump between tracks for their Tropical races. They are laying plans for a winter campaign which promises to outstrip last years record season and in the execution of those arrangements they will work hand in hand, general manager Schuyler said.
