BIG FOOTBALL GAMES ON TURKEY DAY t J Thanksgiving Day always has been a big football day. In the past, say some thirty years ago or so, it marked the end of the football season. Not so now, as quite a few games remain to be played next Saturday. However, a number of outstanding games are scheduled for Turkey Day. In the East, Cornell and Penn clash in their annual classic, a game which has been played for years on Thanksgiving Day. Cornell has a great team this year and is expected to beat Penn. Brown and Columbia also meet today, and it should be a great contest, with the edge to the first mentioned team. Villanova, one of the few undefeated teams in the country, will have as its opponent Manhatten and it appears like a clean slate for the unbeaten team. Duquesne should beat Niagara. Washington University and St. Louis meet in their annual Turkey Day battle, at St. Louis, and the latter is considered the underdog and likely loser. Nebraska is expected to romp over Kansas State and Missouri to do likewise to Kansas. In the South it looks an easy time for Alabama over Van-derbilt, Mississippi over Mississippi State and Arkansas over Tulsa. Centenary is counted upon to bowl over Louisiana Tech. In the Far West Southern California and U. C. L. A. will provide the fireworks for the big crowd sure to be present to see how Notre Dames opponent on December 3 shapes up for that contest;
