DANFIELD, outran, early, came fast j through the stretch and was racing strongly at the end. PALA CHIEF raced wide in the stretch, butifinisheldr full of run. SKY GRENADE, although unable to catch the winner, held oh fairly well; POMPA "was j permitted to race wide in the early stages while under restraint and, after making a mild move rounding th stretch turn, tired near the end. SAHARA CHIEF j well rated within striking distance of THE LAKE in the early running, forged to the front of the latter in the stretch to go well to the end and held SKEETSHOOTER safe. The latter made a strong move on the outside in the last quarter and raced well to the end. SIR MAXIM closed ground in the stretch. SKY EMPRESS was also going well at the finish. COPA DE ORO dropped back to last place early and made up some .ground when too late. ALS PRIDE, showing a dull effort, was eased back repeatedly while racing on the inside In the back stretch and was taken up in the stretch. THBALD had early speed, but tired. TIME "FLIGHT, saved back of ALVISO in the early running, picked up the latter in the last eighth while finishing in resolute fashion and raced well to the end under mild urging. ALVISO showed a good turn of early speed, but could not resist the winner and barely lasted to save second place. LITHOROME came to the outside in the stretch and was going steadily at the end. KHAYYAM, always well up, made a strong run through the stretch when hard urged and got to the front near the end to outfinish CANDLELIGHT. The latter had good early speed and went to the front when ready ncaring the stretch turn to take a good lead, but tired near the end. CELER DOR came to the middle of the track in the stretch to finish fast and was narrowly beaten. TULEBY, shut off on the first turn, was forced to take up, then made a strong move to loom up dangerously rounding the stretch turn, but tired after meeting with slight interference in the stretch. WILL DO quit. MOONEYBROOK tired. RUSHING BY was used up in the first three-quarters and, weakly handled, quit badly in the stretch. Scratched 68862 Bummer Bill, 112.
