Brown, Jr., who is. campaigning one of the largest stables here, added the eight-year-old gelding, My Regards, to his shing Saturday. The horse was acquired from Mullen and Panna at private terms. S. T. Palmer, veteran owner and breeder, who is conducting a breeding establishment and boarding stable at nearby San Ysidro, was a visitor here Saturday and indulged in a lengthy talk with presiding steward George W. Schilling. Palmer is interested in four two-year-olds which he leased to Lee Cox, who is campaigning them at the Mexico track. Elmer OConnell negotiated a deal whereby he acquired the eight-year-old Rome Vennie and the son of Colonel Vennie Erla Lee II. will carry the green and white silks of the Los Angeles horseman in his future engagements. A. G. Farson is among the latest arrivals, bringing three horses from Tanforan. The trio consists of Donnacona Kid and Mathic-son, which he races for himself, and Hum-ber, which will represent Hunterdon and Halpin. Trainer F. R. Doyle, who is directing the conditioning of the L. E. Redmon horses, received four more performers when Pent-land, four-year-old filly, and three yearlings were unloaded at the Caliente course. Jockey Armando Fermin, veteran Cuban rider, who has been riding with a good measure of success on the California circuit, is due here Sunday from Tanforan and will probably swing into action at once, according to advice obtained from Steve Loveland, who will book his engagements. While he has no definite engagements for Sunday, jockey George Woolf, who has been a prominent figure among the top riders of America for several years, will be a visitor here Sunday. Among Woolfs notable riding achievements in the past year arc his victories on Seabiscuit.
