j MATE FOR CHALLENGER II. LEXINGTON, Ky., Dec. 17. C. J. Fitz-Gerald will leave his home at Riverside, Conn., Christmas night for his winter work in the stewards stand at Santa Anita Park. He writes that he has booked Dark Wonder, which he recently purchased, to Challenger II. for the season of 1939. He made a recent visit to W. L. Branns Glad Valley Farm, Fredrick, Maryland, and reports "Challenger II. was never in such fine shape as he is today." He should know. He bought the horse in England for Messrs. Brann and Castle. Brann is now the owner.
