BURNS LONG SHOT RIDER - NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 17. Eddie Burns, veteran booter, is making a reputation for himself as a pilot of long shot winners at the Fair Grounds this season. He scored with a total of half of the mounts i he has received and was second on another occasion. The long shots on which Burns drove down in front out of the six times he has donned silks at the Louisiana Jockey Clubs track include Legerdemain, Miss Apprehend and Goster and he also was second once on the latter named steed. The twenty-five year old veteran hails from Porterville, Calif., and his ability to bring the outsiders down in front is attracting the attention of owners and trainers who are not seeking the apprentice allowance.
