; HOWARD AWAITS WIDENER CUP WEIGHTS BEFORE DECIDING SAN BRUNO, Calif., Dec. 17. Tanforans tale today concerns Charles Howard and his mighty Seabiscuit. Mr. Howard arrived at Tanforan late Friday afternoon in time to view his mare Lady Jaqueline in action in the seventh race. After Lady Jaqueline had won, the motor magnate settled back to answer questions and he was bombarded with queries from all sides. Was he satisfied with the Santa Anita Handicap weights? Would Seabiscuit be shipped to Florida or California? What did he think of a re-match with War Admiral? And Mr. Howard, evidently taking a page from the book of his trainer, taciturn Tom Smith, was non-commital. He was satisfied with the Santa Anita Handicap weights, although he thought Seabiscuit should have had no more than 132 pounds. He would not decide where Seabiscuit was to be shipped until weights for Hialeahs Widener Handicap had been announced. But he did think that Seabiscuit could trim War Admiral every day in the week and twice on Sundays.
