SMASH NARCOTIC RING WASHINGTON, D. C, Dec. 17. Treasury agents today struck a smashing blow at a powerful oriental narcotics smuggling ring when they arrested one of the key figures in Honolulu. Narcotics Commissioner Ainsling-er announced the arrest in Honolulu of Ching Chung Hee, notorious narcotics smuggler, and the seizure of eighty tins of smoking opium, valued at 4,000. The arrest of Ching Chung Hee, Anslinger said, brings to a close an investigation which involves numerous conspirators and which has ramifications throughout the Orient. Anslinger credited vigilance by the ships officers and by the Canadian customs authorities with preventing removal of the narcotics at Vancouver. Treasury agents on the Canadian border also reported success in preventing another type of smuggling. They reported the seizure near Ogdensburg, N. Y., of 5,930 pounds of smuggled wool, said to be the largest such seizure in several years.
