HIGH ACE, rated close up and handling his weight well, came to the middle of the track in the stretch to wear down FLAG BEARER and was never seriously menaced by BONYNGE. The latter, going strongest at the end, was gaining on the winner. FLAG BEARER cut out a good pace, but tired near the finish. HAPPY DINAH was unable to get to the front and was in rather close quarters on the far turn. CHIEF MENTEUR had no excuses and quit after looming up dangerously nearing the stretch turn. SABARIEL raced to the front early to set a good pace under clever rating and, saving ground in the stretch while BUBBLING BOY raced wide, went well to the end to hold the latter in a drive. BUBBLING BOY forced the early pace, but lost the race by swinging wide on the stretch turn and, although continuing gamely, could not get up in time. PERFECT BLEND was close up in the early stages, then bore out badly on the. stretch turn, carrying MORNING BREEZE with him. MORNING BREEZE, although forced to the extreme outside in the stretch by PERFECT BLEND, finished well. FLYING DOT raced well. BIBLIOPHILE had some early speed. The others were never prominent. LADY JAQUELINE, always -within striking distance of the leaders, came strongly on the outside through the. stretch to catch MISS BAM near the end and won in a drive. MISS BAM came fast to get throuch an opening next to the rail on the stretch turn and, withstanding a challenge from UNCLE LESS, raced gamely to the finish. CANNIBAL closed much ground when too late. UNCLE LESS tired after making a bold bid ? after entering the stretch. TENACE tired. ETHELMONT was never a contender and ran below her best form. EPITOME tired.
