GERMANY STILL PEEVED BERLIN, Germany, Dec. 27 The German foreign office today reiterated that the diplomatic situation caused by Washingtons rejection of the Reichs protest over Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes Cleveland speech was far from closed. Any previous reports allegedly emanating from government quarters to this effect are without foundation, it was said. In this connection a spokesman said that the return-to Washington of German Ambassador Hans Dieck- hoff depended entirely on the reassignment to Berlin of United States Ambassador Hugh Wilson. With Germanys "Christmas Truce" still in effect, the foreign office awaited word from Reischfuehrer Hitler before making any new move. The Fuehrer is still at his mountain retreat in Berchtesgaden.
