EMILE VANDERVELDE DIES BRUSSELS, Belgium, Dec. 27. Emile Vandervelde, noted Belgian statesman and socialist leader, died in Brussels today. He was seventy-three years old. Taken ill yesterday, the veteran Belgian parliamentarian recovered sufficiently to dine and go to the motion pictures with a friend. After the performance he was taken ill again. The end was brought on by a cerebral congestion.
