RELIEF UP TO UNCLE SAM WASHINGTON, D. C, Dec. 27. Declaring that states and cities will not take the relief problem off Uncle Sams hands, veteran chairman Edward Taylor of the House Appropriation Committee announced today that a deficiency appropriation for WPA will be rushed. With WPA funds nearing exhaustion. Taylor plans to convene a deficiency subcommittee soon after congress opens, to consider an appeal for more money. Estimates of amounts needed to operate the WPA until the end of the fiscal year, June 30, range from 00,000,000 to ,000,000,000.
