The New Year Handicap, 0,000 added at a mile and a sixteenth, has drawn fourteen nominations to provide the field that will be the main attraction for the holiday card on Monday at Santa Anita Park. Specify and Ligaroti are lining up to settle their nose-and-nose duel in San Francisco and will have the added contention from Heelfly, which is made eligible for his first start in more than a year; Bourbon King, a stakes winner in the East; Gosum, winner of the last New Year stake, which will make his first start since last March; Indian Broom, coming back to the races after a long let-up; Quick Devil and Main Man, which will introduce Louis B. Mayers colors at Santa Anita, and others which have been given special preps for the event. The entire field follows: Specify, Ligaroti, Bourbon King, Indian Broom, Heelfly, Go-sum, Main Man, Quick Devil, Galsun, Piccolo, Merrymood, Sweepalot, Advocator and PageDoy. A
