OUR DAVID forced the pace under light restraint, was put to good pressure after reaching the stretch and, after shaking off TWINKLE FEET, held MINEY MYERSON safe. The latter, well up and in hand for three-eighths, came to the outside for the drive and closed strongly. PAY CHECK, hustled along from the start and forced to race wide, finished gamely under strong urging. TWINKLE FEET had good speed from the beginning, was steadied along to the stretch turn and held on well to the last eighth, then faltered. IDLE ELF, in hand for three-eighths, saved ground and held on fairly well. MAGNOLIA CASH lacked early speed and closed well. MOUNT ECHO, a sharp factor from the beginning, took command under pressure on the second turn and held on fairly well thereafter. LIFELIKE, in hand for three-quarters, moved up strongly thereafter under pressure and then tired in the last three-sixteenths. ARCTIC STAR turned in a steady effort. TRIPLE PLAY had good speed from the beginning, was in close quarters on the first turn and tired after three-quarters. FORCEFUL was through early. Start good and slow for all but Plucky Byrd. Won driving; second and third the same. BOLD FAY, away fast and showing good speed, set the pace under steadying restraint and, continuing gamely, outstayed GOLDEN CHIMES. .The latter, a strong factor from the start, went to the inside in the final quarter and hung on in a game manner. TRA-LA-LA, hard urged throughout, was well up from the start, but swerved repeatedly in the stretch. JAMES worked his way up between horses, came to the outside in the last quarter and, but for slight interference, might have been closer at the finish. ZACABOX dropped back soon after the start, was on the outside in the last three-eighths and swerved under pressure. PLUCKY BYRD was away poorly and made up ground rapidly, showing a good effort. GOLDEN SILENCE, close up from the start, bore out on the stretch turn, losing much ground, then recovered quickly and finished well. PEGGING AWAY tired after being close up for a half mile.
