FOUR NEW GULFSTREAM BARNS New Florida Track Begins Construction of Stalls to Take Care of 232 More Horses. MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 27. Requests by horse-i men for stabling accommodations have been bo numerous that construction has been started on 232 new stalls at Gulfstream Park, officials of the Hollywood Jockey Club announced today. Directors of Miamis newest horse racing plant conferred Tuesday morning and after going over the growing list of applications for stall room, ordered work begun on four new barns. Ground was broken in the afternoon for the first of the new fifty-eight-stall structures. Leslie Pickering, in charge of construction for the J. C. Horning Company, stated all would be finished before the opening of the meeting. Gulfstream Park is scheduled to swing into action on Wednesday, January 18, and racing will continue forty days, through March 4. With ten barns already completed, the additions will give the new track a total of fourteen ready for the inaugural meeting, making a total of 812 stalls.
