I TANFORAN TURF NOTES Norman W. Churchs Patty Cake, one of the best mares to race in California in recent years, has been bred to Gallant Sir. She first came to the races at Tanforan. William LeBarons Brown Jade is temporarily on the shelf, as trainer Ross Cooper plans to freshen up the California-bred star. Francis Albertanti, recently appointed publicity chief at Bay Meadows, will arrive to take up his duties April 19. He is at present visiting in Los Angeles. Art Sparks, Bay Meadows mutuel manager, and Joe Walsh, concessionaire at the same track, have returned from an extended visit to Hot Springs, Ark. T. M. McGeachm was an arrival from Caliente, Thursday, with the platers Ida S. and Ten After. G. Simon brought Some Turley from Caliente. Apprentice Ted Haley, who accepted his first mount recently, is 20 years old and hails from Youngstown, Ohio. He is under contract to C. E. Durnell. Russell Sanders received stall application blanks from Longacres, and those wishing to ship to the Washington track are requested to get in touch with him.
