KEENELAND TURF NOTES 6 The first claim of the meeting was filed in the seventh race at Keeneland Park Friday when Byrum Bros., who were represented by Naughty, claimed Lina Mac for ,000. Former jockey Kenneth Noe has been engaged to book the mounts of Charles Kurt-singer, who signaled his return to the saddle by riding Opelika to victory on opening day. Warren Wright arrived from Miami and will remain at his Calumet Farm until after the running of the Kentucky Derby. Mr. and Mrs. Wright will entertain a number of friends during Derby week. Charles Gormley, custodian of the jockey quarters, reports there are twenty apprentices and fifty-one jockeys ready to accept mounts. Joe and J. D. Mooney, former nationally known riders, the latter having ridden Black Gold in his 1924 Kentucky Derby victory, have a two-horse stable here. Joe, who does the training, owns Little Joan in partnership with Buford Nash, and J. D. Mooney has Union to carry his colors. John Oros, father of Americas, leading rider, vanned Molly Fly, Miss Balko and Jadva from Douglas Park. His son will arrive here Monday and will accept mounts Tuesday.
